Instructors can help other instructors by contributing teaching resources such as sheet music, lesson recordings, and sharing lesson tips. Contributors will earn service hours for their contributions to the drive. In the drive, you can find instructions, a google form to fill out after you contribute (so we can calculate your hours) as well as some folders we have set up for a few instruments. - ABOUT US | Notelove
About Us Notelove aims to encourage participation in the performing arts through free, student-led music lessons . Our team of talented student musicians operates across California, Massachusetts, and Texas. Learning music helps build important skills like perseverance, cooperation, and a strong work ethic. But it can be expensive to pursue a musical education : private teachers typically charge $50-$150 per hour, and school programs can cost hundreds of dollars per student annually. Thus, Notelove was founded! We’re 100% student-run, and dedicated to ensuring every student has access to affordable, high-quality music lessons. Sign up today! 4,046 hours of lessons volunteered 248 instructors from high schools across the U.S. 18 instruments taught by our talented team 27 PVSA* awards given out since 2018 * President's Volunteer Service Award Sound Off! Hear what Notelove parents have to say about us. Background Notelove was started in 2018 by Omar Shohoud , a former Homestead High School student. A musician himself, Omar wanted to see other youth experience the joy of music. Since its creation, Notelove has been recognized nationally by the President's Volunteer Service Award and expanded across three U.S. states! Omar Shohoud, Notelove Founder "This has been a wonderful program to support my daughter in her first year learning a new instrument! The tutor is irreplaceable for a novice musician just beginning to learn. The one-on-one time has been crucial to her success !" – Leah Brunnings, Flute "Notelove is a great idea! I like it for my daughters because it gives them a way to meet someone more experienced in the music community . [They] learn music, as well as hear from another person why and how they pursued their musical instrument." – Karen Linser, Flute
